Roy T. Atwood is a trial lawyer with extensive experience representing companies in complex litigation. He is also a resolute ally to families of children with special needs, providing legal guidance at every step to help support the best possible educational outcomes — a journey that he has experienced both as a lawyer and as a parent of a student with Down syndrome. From the creation of the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) to placement in the least restrictive environment, Roy can provide behind-the-scenes counseling or direct representation.
Roy has litigated cases involving construction, toxic tort, product liability, state and local tax, outsourcing, contracts, environmental class action, and negotiable instruments. He has tried cases in state and federal courts in Texas and across the country and represented clients in arbitration. Roy has also served as national coordinating counsel for a group of Fortune 100 companies in lawsuits involving tens of thousands of plaintiffs in more than 20 jurisdictions.
